You may order high quality, digital scans of Scurlock Studio photographs for personal, educational, and other noncommercial purposes consistent with the Smithsonian's copyright terms and conditions. These images also may be available for reproduction in print publications, on websites, in documentary productions, and other forms Click here for further information.

We provide scans as uncompressed ".tif" files. Original 8 x 10 inch negatives are scanned at 300 dpi; smaller negatives are scanned at proportionately higher resolutions. Images generally are sent within two weeks, either as a CD or as a downloadable electronic file through FTP. Each scan costs $10; there is a $20 shipping and handling fee for each order. No images will be released until payment is received. You can print Scurlock photographs from our digital scans using a home printer or the services of copy stores or specialized photographic equipment and supplies stores.
