PROJECT: TERMINAL ANALOG SYNTHESIS (1958 - 1960)
Terminal analog speech synthesizer controlled by a multichannel
function generator. Function generator created nine trapezoidal
control voltages, each with eight sequential breakpoints
adjustable in amplitude and time. The synthesizer was used to
study the acoustic cues of Japanese phonemes and syllables.

Rev. Radio Res. Lab. (Tokyo), Vol 5, No. 20, 149-155, July
1959, in Japanese with English abstract, and 1-page
"Specification of Terminal Analog Synthesizer", in English.

synthesis.

PROJECT: SPEECH ANALYSIS FOR SYNTHESIS (1969-1972)
Use of simulated formant synthesizer for analysis of glottal-
source wave, vowel analysis, formant frequency extraction. The
system was used in the unscrambling of helium speech, showing
improvement in the intelligibility and naturalness.
