This bill was good for two shillings and six pence. This American paper denomination is interesting in that it is patterned after British coin.

 

b.
Careful examination of the type reveals differences from the type and characters we are familiar with today. Here, what look like “f’s” are actually what were known as long “s’s.” The word is “Possessor.”
