Food History Gala

Join us for the fourth annual Smithsonian Food History Gala, a special evening dedicated to celebrating the people and places that make America’s food history extraordinary. A dynamic crowd of food professionals, practitioners, and enthusiasts will join together at the nation’s history museum for a night like no other.

Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger of Border Grill in Los AngelesThe highlight of the evening will be the fourth annual presentation of the Julia Child Award by The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, with remarks by guest speaker Bobby Flay.

This year's recipients are Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger of Border Grill in Los Angeles!

The Food History Weekend has been named “The Best Festival for Food Lovers” by Washington City Paper, and the Gala is one of Washington, DC’s premier culinary events. Join us around the table to celebrate American food in 2018!

All proceeds from the Gala will help support Smithsonian Food History programs and research at the National Museum of American History.
