During World War II all types of goods were rationed. Processed foods, meats, sugar, coffee, tires, gas, clothing, and gasoline were all rationed. Individuals were issued a ration book and several sheets of stamps. In order to purchase a particular commodity, money wasn’t enough. The buyer had to present ration stamps to purchase an item.
