Hand drawn sketch on paper.
This sketch is thought to be of the general organizational chart of the entire Continental Army, dated anywhere from 1778-1780. The reason for the placing of this date is the absence of Horatio Gates, who was commanding the Southern Army at the time. Therefore, the presence of Nathaniel Greene, who would relieve Gates of command, confirms that the chart was composed before August, 1780.
