They are based on George Cruikshank's "The Bottle," a series showing the progressive degeneration of a family due to the evils of drinking. Interior scene of a family whose furnishings are being removed by a sheriff and two men for failure to pay debts. The father and mother are seated near the fireplace, consoling themselves with drink. The three children linger nearby.
