Jules Naudet used this camera to film the only known footage of the first airplane hitting the north tower of the World Trade Center, and the activity of the firefighters' command center inside the lobby of the north tower. Context:
Many people believe that the terrorist attacks of September 11 were the most photographed events in history. Brothers Jules and Gédéon Naudet began filming a documentary about a rookie firefighter in New York’s Engine 7, Ladder 1 firehouse, seven blocks from the World Trade Center, in the summer of 2001. On September 11, while working with the fire crew, Jules captured the only film footage of the first airplane hitting the north tower. Minutes later he was inside the building’s lobby filming the intense action of the firefighters’ command center. Several blocks away, Gédéon filmed reaction in the streets.
