Calendar from Greenwich Village School
Description: This calendar, created for the Greenwich Village School in New York City, is illustrated with children’s post-September 11 artwork.

Context: September 11 affected children as well as adults. The Greenwich Village School calendar demonstrates a response through children’s artwork, printed in a traditional media form. The drawings have special significance because of the school’s proximity to Ground Zero. The Greenwich Village School, New York Public School 41 located at 116 West 11 Street, was evacuated for a month, and the building was used to house firefighters and other rescue workers.
