The 5th U.S. Cavalry Regiment

American cavalrymen of the 5th Regiment in Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War. On July 25, 1898, the U.S. Army successfully invaded Puerto Rico, landing in the small port of Guánica. Within five months, Spain ceded the island to the United States through the Treaty of Paris on December 10, 1898.
