Eighth Annual Food History Gala
Thursday, October 13, 2022
Join us for the eighth annual presentation of the Julia Child Award and help support the Smithsonian Food History Project! The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Julia Child Award by The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts to the recipient, Grace Young. The Gala is one of D.C.’s premier culinary events and we look forward to hosting it in person once again this year.
You will also be supporting the important initiatives of the Smithsonian Food History Project, which will help us to continue our internship program which provides mentoring and professional learning experiences to candidates from communities that are underrepresented in the museum and food history fields. In addition, your support will help us create and sustain a more robust presence with our food history collections, research, and programs, including the popular Cooking Up History conversations and demonstrations that feature guest chefs and cooks from around the country.
