Longitude: 79 deg 47 min 43 sec W
Height above sea level: 55 feet

Original construction:
54-foot octagonal wooden lighthouse structure set on a stone foundation

Rebuilds:
1858: current cylindrical limestone tower erected after original was destroyed by fire in 1856

Status:
deactivated in 1961; tower and light keeper's red brick cottage (1857) currently unused.

Notes:
The Yacht Club building shown in the postcard burned down in 1915
