Height above sea level: 156 feet

Original construction:
54-foot tower on Pea Island

Rebuilds:
1859: 80-foot tower replaced old leaning tower, destroyed during conflict in 1861
1872: present 166-foot tall conical brick tower; wide black and white alternating bands

Status:
automated in 1954; active aid to navigation

Light characteristic:
two white flashes every 30 seconds visible for 18 nautical miles
