Original construction:
23-foot rubblestone and granite tower

Rebuilds:
1844: 36-foot cast-iron tower
1881: 36-foot cast-iron tower
1901: present 52-foot brick cylindrical tower

Status:
deactivated from 1982-1985; 1985: solar-powered and reactivated as aid to navigation

Light characteristic:
flashing white every 2.5 seconds, visible for 6 nautical miles
