Original construction:
30-foot conical stone tower; demolished probably in 1840s

1833: current buff-colored, octagonal limestone tower

deactivated in 1914

the historic light was restored in 1985; known locally as "Chinaman's Light"; leased to Buffalo Lighthouse Association, Inc.; on Coast Guard base.
