Year established: 1835
Latitude: 44 deg 12 min 4 sec N
Longitude: 69 deg 2 min 55 sec W
Height above sea level: 52 feet

Original construction:
Brick lighthouse on site then called Negro Island

Rebuilds:
1896: present 25-foot brick tower; island name changed in 1934 as memorial to the Saturday Evening Post publisher

Status:
Automated in 1972; active aid to navigation; converted to solar power in 1994

Light characteristic:
4 seconds green, I second darkness, can be seen for 6 nautical miles.
