Original construction:
40-foot tall brick light tower in the center of keeper's house

Rebuilds:
1976: replaced by rotating aerobeacons
1986: a new lantern installed in response to public complaints

Status:
Automated in 1976; active aid to navigation

Light characteristic:
Red flashes every 5 seconds, visible for 15 nautical miles; fog signal, 2 blasts every 30 seconds
