Original construction:
69-foot tall wooden tower, 24-feet in diameter at base

Rebuilds:
1754: 64-foot tall brick and stone tower
1857: present square granite tower, upper half white, attached to SE angle of dwelling

Status:
automated 1972; active aid to navigation

Light characteristic:
Flashing white every 6 seconds, visible for 15 nautical miles; fog signal, I blast every 30 seconds
