Original construction:
granite tower on pier

Rebuilds:
1874: house added on pier, destroyed by ice in 1875
1883: present 58-foot iron conical tower on brown cylindrical pier

Status:
electrified in 1960, automated in 1963; active aid to navigation

Light characteristic:
Flashing white every 2.5 seconds, visible for 15 nautical miles, with a red sector; fog signal, 2 blasts every 30 seconds
