Original construction:
current 93-ft conical white brick tower

1984: all buildings except the tower were removed

automated in 1966, active aid to navigation; land owned by Bureau of Land Management, Salem District

Light characteristic:
two white flashes grouped every 20 seconds (2 second flash, 2 second dark, 2 second flash, 14 second dark) visible for 19 nautical miles

Oregon's tallest lighthouse; original Fresnel lens still in use
