Original construction:
current 65-ft conical white brick tower with sandstone foundation

1984: restored by Coast Guard after deteriorating without keeper

electrified in 1935; automated in 1961; land is now a State Park

Light characteristic:
two white flashes grouped every 30 seconds (.2 second flash, 7.3 second dark, .2 second flash, 22.3 second dark) visible for 26 nautical miles
