Original construction:
43-foot red square brick tower attached to dwelling

Rebuilds:
1943: Lighthouse demolished and replaced by "Belle Isle Lifeboat Station", constructed from 1939 -1942

Status:
no longer in existence

Notes:
The "Lifeboat Station" watch tower was taken down, and in the 1950s a light was put up to mark the building site. Information was provided in part by John Polacsek, Curator for Marine History at the Detroit Historical Society.
