Longitude: 75 deg 5 min 2 sec W

Rebuilds:
1783: replaced tower burned by British in 1777, relit in 1784
1863: new keepers' house due to advance of sand dunes at 11 feet per year
1883: storm-induced erosion stimulated erosion protection measures; beacon moved to Delaware Breakwater in 1885

Status:
discontinued in 1924; 1926 storm undermined tower which fell into Delaware Bay
