45-foot high stone tower

Rebuilds:
1867: present 142-foot conical brick tower with red and white bands

Status:
automated in 1965; active aid to navigation in National Wildlife Refuge

Light characteristic:
two white flashes every 5 seconds, visible for 22 nautical miles
