This sextant has a silvered scale that is graduated every 20 minutes from -5o to +175o and read by vernier with tangent screw and magnifier to 30 seconds of arc. The U.S. Coast &
Geodetic Survey acquired it in 1907 and transferred it to the
Smithsonian in 1929.
