This Star and Planet Finder, subtitled "THE HEAVENS WITHOUT A
TELESCOPE," was published in 1906 and cost $5. Leon Barritt, a publisher in New York, copyrighted the form and applied for patents in the United States, England, Germany, France, and Belgium. Garrett Serviss was a well-known science writer and lecturer. Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, donated this example to the Smithsonian in 1963.
