Discussion:
This telescope has an achromatic objective, a four-element erecting eye piece, and a brass body covered with leather. The U.S. Nautical Almanac transferred it to the Smithsonian in 1880. The inscription is also seen on telescopes signed I. P. Cutts, Sutton & Son.
