Discussion:
Graff, Washbourne & Dunn were New York silversmiths who made this stadimeter for the U.S. Navy during the War with Germany, 1917-1918. The Navy transferred it to the Smithsonian in 1921. It has a height scale that reads from 50 to 200 feet, and a distance drum that reads from 200 yards to infinity.
