Discussion:
This stadimeter has a height scale that reads from 54 to 200 feet, and a distance drum that reads from 200 yards to infinity. It probably dates from the 1890s when Western Electric, the largest electrical manufacturer in the U.S., backed Fiske’s experiments. The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago donated it to the Smithsonian in 1967.
