Discussion:
This chronometer is a 56 hour instrument with a later pattern Earnshaw spring detent escapement, and indications for hours, minutes, seconds, and up and down. R. W. Cole (1840-1919) apprenticed with Usher (1832-1903), and the two went into business together in 1873. They probably made this example around 1875.
