Presented to 107-year-old Mamoru Eto. Great Hall, U. S. Department of Justice, Washington, DC.
 
CONTEXT
Office of Redress Administration officials determined that the first redress payments would be made to the oldest eligible recipients. The first checks, accompanied by special letters from President George Bush, were presented on October 9, 1990 in a special ceremony held in the Great Hall of the U.S. Department of Justice. One of the first payments went to 107-year-old Mamoru Eto.
