"Lucky Cloud (Santa Fe)"

DESCRIPTION
"Lucky Cloud (Santa Fe)"

Watercolor, by Kango Takamura

CONTEXT
"One day we saw a wonderful cloud to the South. It was evening time. Oh, it was a big cloud. All pink. I had never seen this kind of cloud before. Really I was surprised. So we called it a "lucky cloud." "Look at the cloud. It won't be long, this war," we said. So everybody was very happy. We say it is a "lucky cloud" -- sign that war is over. This is atomic test, I think. But it was a bit early then, so many people think that's odd. But I don't know. Still I don't know."
