TITLE Lunch pail DESCRIPTION Lunch pail Vernacular name: bento bako Three part kit consisting of rice compartment shaped like a bucket with handle, a smaller compartment that fits on top of the bucket, and a lid with a top strap handle. Both bottom and top compartments are marked with a circular stamp. Made in Japan. Grey enamel, 3 pieces, 18.1cm H, 14.5cm diam. CONTEXT Used by Denkichi and Tatsuo Hirose, to carry lunch to fields.
