TITLE Berry tote tray with ten boxes DESCRIPTION Berry tote tray with ten boxes Made by donor's father, Koichi Kurima; inner boxes purchased (made of paper). They are of the type used for picking both strawberries and grapes. The trays were used in Florin, from ca. 1922 until the evacuation in 1942. Both family members and hired people used the trays. Wood and paper. CONTEXT "Used in gathering berries, ca. 1920. Florin was the strawberry capitol of the state, if not the nation -- 120 freight carloads would leave at the height of the season."
