DESCRIPTION
Pfc. Sadao Munemori

"Pfc. Sadao S. Munemori, a young Nisei from California, won America's highest award for bravery -- the Congressional Medal of Honor -- in the Italian campaign. Near Seravezza, Italy, on April 5, 1945, Munemori single-handedly wiped out two Nazi machine gun nests, killed three and wounded two of the gunners, and then gave his own life by throwing himself upon an exploding grenade to save the lives of two comrades from the 442nd Regimental Combat Team."
