"WILD HEERBRUGG SWITZERLAND T2-50903"

Discussion:
This instrument, which was probably made around 1956, has its original air tight and water tight steel case, and its original wooden shipping case. The letters on the steel case--"DMATC 17502"--refer to the United States Defense Mapping Agency Topographic Center. The National Imagery and Mapping Agency, successor to DMA, transferred this T2 to the Smithsonian in 2000.
