FIG. 14. The DAVO (Dynamic Analog of the VOcal tract) synthesizer,
consisting of a ladder network of inductors and capacitors, each
section of which mimics the properties of a short section of the vocal
or nasal passages, after Rosen (1958). Inductance and capacitance values
are determined by the area of vocal tract at that point.
